Gibraltar-headquartered online gambling operator bwin.party digital entertainment plc announced today that it had signed a multi-year extension of its B2B supply agreement with Danske Licens Spil, known to be the online gaming division of Danske Spil A/S.
The Danske Spil Group is owned by the Danish Gymnastics and Sports Associations, the Sports Confederation of Denmark, and the Danish Government. Currently, it is among the major betting and gaming businesses across Europe. Back in 2014, Danske Spil generated overall gross gaming revenue of DKK4.5 billion (€603 million).
The organization offers a number of gambling options, with numbers games, national lottery, instant games, and machine gaming being among those. Danske Spil is also known to have established a large and particularly profitable online gambling business, managed by its wholly-owned subsidiary Danske Licens Spil.
Commenting on the latest announcement, bwin.party CEO Norbert Teufelberger said that they are thrilled with the opportunity to extend their partnership agreement with the Danish online gambling operator to the end of 2019. bwin.party has been working with Danske Licens Spil since January 2012. The Gibraltar-based gaming company has supplied online poker and casino games for the Danish organization practically since the online gaming licensed market was first opened in Denmark.
Mr. Teufelberger further pointed out that they are delighted to be able to supply the country’s leader in the provision of online gaming services with bwin.party’s online poker and other casino games.
Danske Licens Spil CEO Niels Erik Folmann said that the online gaming channel has quickly turned into an important part of their overall operations. This is why they are determined to further grow it in the years to come. Mr. Folmann said that given their ongoing relationship with bwin.party and its proven gaming platform, the decision to extend the existing agreement was quite obvious. The executive pointed out that the Gibraltar-based gambling operator will most definitely be able to support Danske Licens Spil in achieving its goal to expand its online division.
In fact, bwin.party finalized its supply agreement with the Danish gaming operator in 2010. The contract was then revoked after it had been challenged by Playtech, which, too, was interested in signing such an agreement. Eventually, bwin.party was chosen as the preferred supplier without the launch of a new tender.
