Station Casinos Executive Joins Rock Gaming Ohio

News

Gambling operator Rock Gaming LLC said in a news release that it has appointed Mark Tricano as Senior Vice President of Operations for Horseshoe Casino Cleveland and ThistleDown Racino, both in Northeast Ohio. The company is to take over management of the two venues as well as Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati as of June 2016.

Mr. Tricano is to take on his new post next month. Currently, he is President and General Manager at Station Casinos LLC. As of December, he will be taking the position of General Manager for Horseshoe Casino Cleveland and will be responsible for the strategic direction of The Ritz-Carlton Cleveland as well as ThistleDown Racino.

The current Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Cleveland gambling venue, Scott Lokke, will take the same position at the racino as of next month and will have to report directly to Mr. Tricano.

It is interesting to note that Mr. Tricano is the second official from Nevada-based Station Casinos to be joining Rock Gaming. Mark Dunkeson, President and COO of the Ohio-headquartered gambling operator, joined the company back in 2013.

Among other things, Mr. Tricano was also Vice President and General Manager of Station Casinos’ flagship property Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa. Currently, the gambling company manages 18 casinos in Henderson and Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to joining Station Casinos, the executive had worked for Caesars Entertainment Corp. for six years, taking a number of different positions.

Commenting on Mr. Tricano’s appointment, Mr. Dunkeson said in a statement that his new colleague’s “broad industry experience and record of success” will be of extreme importance as Rock Gaming is transitioning operations of its Ohio-based properties.

Earlier in November, the gambling operator announced that it is to take over management of Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati, and ThistleDown Racino from Caesars Entertainment Corp. by the end of the first half of 2016. The gambling venues will no longer be managed under the Horseshoe brand and will offer new reward programs as the Las Vegas gaming giant is pulling its branding and is to gradually cease operations at the two casinos and the racetrack facility.

People with knowledge of the matter commented that Rock Gaming would probably need to connect with experts from Las Vegas in order to prepare attractive new loyalty programs for its gambling customers.
