UK-based gambling operator Ladbrokes announced today that Kristof Fahy has joined the company as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Mr. Fahy will be in charge of all marketing, brand, and other related activities across both Ladbrokes’ Digital and Retail operations.

Prior to joining the company, the executive took the same role at the Telegraph Media Group as well as at rival gambling operator William Hill PLC.

Commenting on his new appointment, Mr. Fahy said that he is really happy to be joining Ladbrokes “at such an exciting time” for the company. He further noted that it offers a particularly strong brand and that he is looking forward to developing that strength with their advertising, marketing, and sponsorship activities. According to Mr. Fahy, marketing is central to Ladbrokes CEO Jim Mullen’s strategy for the company and that they now have a number of opportunities to showcase the excitement their brand brings to sport.

The gambling operator’s new Chief Marketing Officer also pointed out that he is determined to deploy their “expertise, skills, and brand strength” in the segments and sports where consumers are most active. This is why they intend to work with sports that are open to and fully understand the value of what Ladbrokes offers.

Jim Mullen, CEO of Ladbrokes, said that Mr. Fahy is an excellent addition to their team at a crucial time for the gambling company. Mr. Mullen added that Ladbrokes currently offers some of the best products in the market and that it now needs to attract the attention of more recreational gambling customers. And according to him, with the operator’s new Chief Marketing Officer, who has quite a lot of experience in the field, the Ladbrokes brand will most certainly be seen in more places in future.

The announcement about Mr. Fahy’s appointment comes ahead of the completion of the proposed £2.3-billion tie-up between Ladbrokes and Gala Coral. The deal is expected to be finalized sometime this year and the combined entity is to replace William Hill as UK’s largest betting and gaming operator both in terms of revenue and the number of stores it operates. According to initial estimates, Ladbrokes Coral plc will annually generate more than £2.1 billion in net revenue and EBITDA of £392 million.
