GSN Games, best known for delivering social casino games and various cash tournaments, announced today that it is to acquire London-based social casino studio Plumbee. All financial details related to the transaction remained undisclosed.
Plumbee was founded in 2011 and has since then developed popular titles such as Mirrorball Slots. That particular game has been downloaded more than 10 million times on mobile devices and Facebook.
GSN Games said that it would acquire a 100% stake in the gaming studio, which was formerly backed financially by Idinvest Partner and Endemol. Plumbee’s 40 employees, known for creating some of the most popular and innovative social casino games, will join the GSN Games team.
GSN Games COO Steve Brunell commented on their latest acquisition, saying that it would imminently and immediately bolster his company’s ambitions for a further growth as Plumbee has a talented team with quite a lot of experience in the social casino field. Mr. Brunell also noted that the transaction will result in the creation of “best-in-class winning experience” for their social casino players.
The executive further pointed out that they are particularly pleased with the opportunity to expand into the UK gaming market. GSN Games will be striving to capitalize on the concentration of top-class gaming talent there to boost its Plumbee team.
Plumbee CEO and Co-founder Raf Keustermans said that being a “growing force” in the social casino business, they are really happy to be joining the GSN Games team. Mr. Keustermans further added that they are looking forward to combining their industry expertise with GSN Games’ “existing scale, stability, and talent” in a bid to provide players with the best possible social casino experience.
The purchase of the Plumbee social casino studio is yet another indication of GSN Games’ strategy for a continued growth. Last year, the latter company bought gaming developer Idle Gaming, best known for its titles Slots of Fun and Fresh Deck Poker. Among other things, the acquisition resulted in GSN Games adding an office in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. Following the purchase of Plumbee, the provider of social casino games and cash tournaments now runs seven locations in the USA, the UK, India, and Ukraine.
