PokerStars to Forbid Players From Using Their Accounts for Entering Live Events

News

PokerStars SpadeAfter acquiring PokerStars and Full Tilt a few months ago, Canadian gaming giant Amaya Gaming promised fans to do its best to make both platforms successful and competitive on a global scale. However, the latest developments contrasted with their promises and agitated players, while leaving experts confused.

Players tried to let the managers know that their actions have a devastating effect on the popularity of PokerStars and nothing positive is going to happen. A number of protests were organized, managers announced a rake increase, the seating scripts will be limited as well and eventually completely banned. Now, another unpleasant surprise is approaching. It concerns a change in the policy of PokerStars and players, based mainly in several European countries, will be prohibited from buying into live tournaments via the room’s client.

The announcement was made through a poker forum and players, located in Denmark, Estonia, Belgium, UK and Bulgaria will be affected by the new rules.

A representative of PokerStars officially announced that players, located in the countries, mentioned above, will not be allowed to buy into live events and use the funds, available on their accounts for that purpose.

However, some exceptions apply. Players who have created accounts in the international version of PokerStars will not be affected by the changes. In other words, those who hold accounts in PokerStars.com and .eu will be enabled to buy in live events.

The announcement, made by the representatives of PokerStars, gave an answer to hundreds of players who were wondering if they would be allowed to use their funds in order to buy in during the live events of the poker room.

The announcement was followed by an official explanation of the situation. The spokesperson of PokerStars commented that they were not permitted to provide players with this kind of services and they were sorry for any inconvenience they might have caused.

The spokesperson also added that they did their best to prevent such a negative outcome but unfortunately, players of several countries will be forbidden from using the funds, available on their accounts for making purchases in live events.

Although the announcement was not among the most exciting ones ever made by PokerStars, the decision for prohibiting players from making such purchases had not been randomly taken. The main reason why Amaya Gaming managers implemented changes in the policy was their desire to make the products and services, available on PokerStars, more compatible to the rules and regulations of every country they operate in.

Despite the great number of changes, Amaya Gaming kept on its promise to respect the gambling rules and regulations, established in every country and to work in collaboration with the local regulatory bodies.
