The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is currently taking place at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, with the $3,500 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million set to kick off on April 15. Although there are two more days to go before the start of the highlight tournament, there is quite a lot of action going on at the poker tables of the popular Florida casino.
For instance, Vimy Ha has just won Event 13 on the schedule of the poker festival, or the $570 No-Limit Hold’em Double Black Chip Bounty, to be more precise. The player collected the amount $16,020, after a two-way deal with his heads-up opponent Pasquale Caiazza.
Including his latest victory, Ha now has about $427,534 in live tournament winnings. The largest cash the player has ever collected amounted to $100,000 and he received it for winning the Parx Casino Big Stax IV $1,080 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry back in 2013.
As for the $570 No-Limit Hold’em Double Black Chip Bounty at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood, it drew 240 total entries who created a prize pool of $72,000. What is more, there was a $200 bounty on each player that entered the tournament or in other words there amount of $48,000 was added in bounties. In other words, players had the chance to make a profit even before the bubble burst.
Speaking of payouts, the top 27 finishers received a share of the prize pool, with lowest payouts totaling $648. Each of the players at the unofficial ten-handed final table was guaranteed a minimum cash of $936. Ten-handed action commenced with Ha himself being the chip leader with a total of 630,000 in chips.
Evan Teitelbaum was the first to leave. His 10th place secured him with a payout of $936. The player was soon followed by Jim Rothlein, who collected $1,440 for his ninth-place finish. Two more players then left the final table in quick succession – Stephen Esposito was busted in 8th place, good for $2,650, and Dalton Mills was eliminated in 7th place for $2,650.
Jon Brody was the player to take 6th place. His share of the overall prize pool amounted to $3,600. Ido Ashkenazi finished 5th in the event after he could not make it against Ha himself. The player scooped $4,320. Johanssy Joseph took 4th place, collecting $5,544 for his performance. Cornel Cimpan was then eliminated by Ha to take 3rd place in the tournament and the amount of $6,840.
After Cimpan left the table, Ha and Caiazza discussed a potential two-way deal and eventually agreed on one. The two remaining players split the remainder of the prize pool, thus taking $16,020 each. Being the chip leader at that time, Ha was credited as the winner and received the tournament trophy.
