
As part of this restructure, Paul Willock, President of Genting UK, confirmed today that Mark Sergeant has been appointed as Managing Director of Home Markets at the gambling operator. Mr. Sergeant’s appointment has become effective as of April 2016.
Mr. Sergeant started his career in the gambling industry as Commercial Director of Gala Gaming Division at gambling operator Gala Coral. Later on, he was appointed as Group Gaming Director. In November 2009, he assumed the post of Acting Managing Director at Gala Gaming Division. In May 2010, he was also appointed as Managing Director of Gala Casinos.
Following his appointment at Genting UK, the official has taken responsibilities over the company’s provincial casino properties. He is also in charge of Genting Alderney, the operator’s online gambling division. As a result from Mr. Sergeant joining the company, Peter Nolan, Genting Alderney’s Managing Director, has left his post with immediate effect.
Commenting on the latest announcement, Paul Willock, Genting UK President, said that they are now focused on their recently launched growth strategy for the development of “compelling multi-channel experience” across their land-based venues as well as their online and mobile platforms. Mr. Willock thanked Mr. Nolan for his work at building their online business at Genting Alderney. The gambling operator will now turn its attention to converging its land-based and digital businesses under Mr. Sergeant’s guidance.
Genting UK is part of Genting Group, an internationally recognized operator of gambling venues and other entertainment properties. The larger group has celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015.
As mentioned above, Genting UK operates more than 40 venues across the UK under two brands – Genting Club and Genting Casino. In London, the company manages five casinos, with Crockfords being its flagship property. The venue is known to be the world’s oldest private members gaming club.
