Online gambling brand Betsafe was confirmed to have become the first gaming provider to launch an Apple TV gambling app and that Sweden has become the first country to have the app launched in. Betsoft is a subsidiary of major Swedish gambling operator Betsson.
The Betsafe Live Roulette product had its official launch on May 19 and as mentioned above, Swedish gambling customers were the first to be provided with the opportunity to log in and play from Apple TV. Parent Betsson pointed out that the launch came as part of its strategy to have its subsidiaries at the forefront in the provision of the best possible experience for players.
Commenting on the recent launch, Betsson CEO Ulrik Bengtssonsaid said that the company is once again presenting a ground-breaking solution that will probably set a standard for the global gambling industry in near future. The executive further noted that Sweden has become the first country to see the app launched for local players and that it will be introduced to a wider public and in more countries in the months to come.
Jesper Svensson, Chief Commercial Officer of subsidiary Betsson Malta, noted that they have always been looking for opportunities to further develop the customer experience they are offering and that it is only a natural move to try to meet customers’ terms and to find out where customers are. The official also said that the fact that it is their app to have been the first one to be launched on the Apple TV platform is indicative enough of the gambling operator’s constant strive to enhance player experience.
During the first quarter of the year, Betsson generated revenue of SEK1 billion from all its subsidiaries, reflecting an 18% increase as compared to the figure posted for the same period of the previous year. The company highlighted its sportsbook division’s performance and growth in sports betting turnover from mobile devices. During the period in question the gambling operator had as many as 538,077 registered players, representing a 45% increase as compared to the first quarter of 2015. Customer deposits amounted to SEK3.5 billion, up 11% year-on-year.
