iGaming Super Show 2016 – Highlights and Impressions

Events & Reports

Many would describe Amsterdam as the city of freedom and sin, a place where carnal pleasures are put on pedestal. Art connoisseurs would see in the Dutch capital a place that would absolutely satisfy their need for quality works of art. People with interests in history would find the city one with rich and sometimes tumultuous past. To put it short, Amsterdam is a multi-colored, multi-cultural place that offers a little bit of everything for everyone.

And only a day ago, the Dutch capital was the gathering place for gambling affiliates, affiliate managers, representatives for renowned gaming companies, executives, and other industry personalities as it played host to the Amsterdam Affiliate Conference and the iGaming Super Show 2016.

The iGaming Super Show ran from June 7-10, combining nine dedicated events under the roof of Amsterdam RAI, one of Europe’s largest and most impressive conference and exhibition venues. The Amsterdam Affiliate Conference was one such event and was probably the one to attract the most interest among affiliates.

This, however, does not mean that the rest of the events were not worth seeing. Quite the contrary! Over the four days of networking, conferencing and exhibitioning, the iGaming Super Show organizers gave delegates the chance to join the Go Gaming Tel Aviv-Amsterdam, Financial Partners Expo, Gaming in Holland, and a number of other events that were part of the iGaming Super Show’s schedule.

And it would not be an exaggeration to say that iGaming Business has once again done a great job in organizing a conference that made it possible for industry personalities to gather together and discuss the present state of online gambling as well as what could be done to improve the industry in future in order for it to offer value to customers, affiliates, affiliate managers, and all the other interested parties.

For the very first time, Casino News Daily appeared at the Amsterdam Affiliate Conference as a media partner and had its own delegates at the event. And wearing a media partner badge, team members had the chance not only to say Hi! to our existing partners but also to distribute our first printed magazine that contained some of the most popular stories featured on our website over the past several months.

The Amsterdam Affiliate Conference, together with the London Affiliate Conference and the Berlin Affiliate Conference (which is set to take place towards the end of October), is a unique opportunity for newbie industry personalities to collect impressions and precious pieces of advice from pioneers and for pioneers to exchange experience with fellows. It also gives delegates from all around the world the chance to meet the people they work with, people they are talking to every day but cannot see that often as they are thousands of kilometers apart. And last but not least, conferences like this one offer industry personalities the opportunity to get the latest updates within the iGaming field.

The Amsterdam Affiliate Conference ran from June 7-10 and featured a pre-registration day, two full days of conferences and exhibitioning, and a Friday unwind session. Over the past several days, our delegates had the chance to meet with a great number of industry personalities, some of which having over a decade of experience in the Internet gambling sector. And if a list with the most broadly discussed topics during the event could be made it would look like this:

+ Sweden as one of Europe’s biggest iGaming markets and how it could grow even further

+ Russia and its potential to become the next big online poker market

+ The online casino business in Spain and the difficulties casino affiliates have been facing in the country recently

+ What could be done so as for more key operators, providers, and other related parties to focus more of their attention on the emerging African markets

+ Virtual reality casinos as a growing trend within the industry

+ Player acquisition and retention

+ How a successful and mutually beneficial deal should be negotiated

+ Regulations from around Europe and the rest of the world

A lot more has been said over the past few days. Opinions have been exchanged and hopefully, what has been discussed and learnt would be deployed so as for the overall state of the industry to be improved.
