Generally speaking, Rapid Games is a Class II mobile solution that gives players the chance to play casino games on their smartphones while at given casino venues.
With the Class II compliance certification, Nektan’s US joint venture would be able to provide tribal jurisdictions with its gaming solution. As mentioned above, customers at tribal casinos deploying the gaming product would be able to play casino games while at designated areas within the gambling properties.
Rapid Bingo would be the first game to be released under the Rapid Games brand. Its launch is scheduled for the third quarter of the year.
Under Class II gaming certificates, providers are able to distribute games of luck, with slots and bingo being among these. Such games need to be played on a pooled basis. In other words, gambling customers need to be playing against each other and not against a single gaming machine. According to the latest figures released, Class II games annually generate an approximate of $46.7 billion.
Commenting on the landmark solution approval, Nektan PLC Chairman Jim Wilkinson said in a statement that they are extremely happy and that they believe their product would prove to be a great success for their US joint venture, local casinos, and gambling customers at these.
The official further noted that the gambling industry has long been looking for solutions that would cater to the demands of the new generations of players and that their product’s approval is “a positive step in that direction.”
Of their in-venue mobile gaming solution, Mr. Wilkinson said that Class II has always been offering tribal casinos a number of benefits and that they feel their product would be just as beneficial to casino operations and players as well.
It was late in 2014 when Nektan announced that it had joined forces with US-based gaming content and technology provider Spin Games to create what is now known as the Respin joint venture.
