With Romania further opening its regulated gambling market, SBTech has become the first provider of sports betting solutions to be licensed by the country’s gambling regulator – Oficiul National pentru Jocuri de Noroc (ONJN).
The sportsbook supplier announced today that it has been granted a Class II license by the regulatory body. Thus, it will be able to provide its solutions to local gambling customers. SBTech offering will go live with Netbet’s Romanian online gambling website.
With the sportsbook provider being allowed to enter the Romanian regulated gambling market, it has further expanded its presence across various European regulated markets. The company has already launched its offering in the UK, Ireland, Portugal, and many more.
Commenting on the latest announcement, SBTech CEO Richard Carter said that it is main part of his company’s strategy to extend its reach in regulated markets. He further noted that they are delighted with the opportunity to present Romanian gambling customers with their offering after they have met ONJN’s high standards. The official added that they are looking forward to deliver their sportsbook products to both existing and future gambling companies to be operating in Romania.
SBTech was founded in 2007. Headquartered in Gibraltar, the company also manages offices in Bulgaria, Malta, Israel, and Ukraine. It has gradually established itself as one of the leading suppliers of digital sports betting solutions to international gambling operators.
SBTech has become the latest provider of gambling products and services to enter Romania’s regulated gambling market. Last week, it was announced that Prima Networks, a supplier of gaming content powered by Microgaming’s Quickfire, was awarded Class II licenses by the country’s gambling regulator.
London-based provider iSoftBet also announced last week that it was given the nod to supply its оnline casino content to both domestic and international online gambling companies operating within the country’s borders.
It was only two days ago when Swedish developer and supplier of online casino games Play’n GO was, too, granted a gaming license by the local regulator and was thus given the opportunity to introduce its offering to gambling companies with operations in Romania.
