Playground Poker Club occasionally plays host to WPT stops. Its partnership with partypoker is to be officially kicked off during the Canadian Grand Prix event, which is set to take place on September 2-5, 2016. The tournament is the headliner for the upcoming World Cup of Cards. The major card festival will run from August 18 through September 14 and will feature as many as 39 tournaments, with those being not only No-Limit Hold’em ones but also Pot-Limit Omaha, 5-Card Omaha, and two Pineapple variants.
Later this year, Playground Poker Tour will welcome players for a partypoker.net WPT Montreal $3,850 tournament. The event is set to kick off on November 11.
As part of its partnership with partypoker, the Playground Poker Club will showcase the online poker room’s branding all over the place. In addition, the Montreal-based poker facility will have its own tab on the partypoker online lobby. Players of the online poker website will be given the chance to compete in satellite tournaments for seats into larger live tournaments to be hosted by Playground Poker Club.
Commenting on the recently signed agreement, partypoker Group Head Tom Waters said that they are looking forward to working with the Montreal-based poker club’s team as its members have clearly managed to create exciting and successful experience for North American players.
Mr. Waters further noted that through their comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian market, they are now given the chance to “reinvigorate” their brand there, to draw a new player generation, and to provide existing customers with a platform that would offer them a taste of what it is to play at Playground Poker Club.
Phil Sabbah, CMO of Playground Poker Club, said that they are thrilled with the partypoker partnership and that the multi-year deal will give club members the chance to play prestigious online events on partypoker’s website and also to enter online satellites for seats into some their live tournaments aimed at drawing players from the entire Canadian market.
