The 2016 WSOP has entered its closing stages and although Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel & Casino will be an interesting place to be at this week, there will be other noteworthy poker locations where some of this season’s most exciting tournaments are set to take place. Here is a little more information about the major festivals slated to kick off in the week July 11-17.
2016/2017 WPT National Brussels
The bwin.be WPT National Brussels, the latest stop on the WPT National schedule, is set to take place between July 12-17. Grand Casino Brussels Viage will be the hosting venue for what promises to be yet another thrilling WPT National poker festival.
The bwin.be WPT National Brussels €750 Main Event is understandably the most highly anticipated tournament. It will run from July 14-17, featuring two starting flights and two more days of play. A two-day High Roller event with a buy-in fee of €1,500 is also included in the festival’s schedule. This one is to kick off on July 13 and to be completed on the very next day.
2016 Bellagio Cup XII
The luxury resort and casino Bellagio in Las Vegas will once again be the host to a Bellagio Cup tournament, which is scheduled for July 13-19. Overall, the whole tournament will include several satellite events, the actual Bellagio Cup XII, and a Seniors Summer Championship.
Players will have to pay $10,400 to enter the five-day Bellagio Cup event. It is to kick off on July 14. As for the Seniors Summer Championship, it will feature a buy-in fee of $2,140. The event will run from July 17-19.
2016 Aria High Roller XXXVI
It will be a busy week for Aria Resort & Casino as well. The casino at the popular complex will welcome players for one of its exciting $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller events, which have for some time now been drawing the attention of some of the world’s most renowned poker players. As other such High Roller tournaments held at Aria, this one will, too, be a single-day one and will take place on July 13.
2016/2017 WPT Choctaw
Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma has always been one of the most exciting locations on the WPT Main Tour schedule. The casino will host the next such festival from July 14 to August 2. There will be 39 events to take place as part of the overall tournament, with some of those featuring guaranteed prize pools of between $20,000 and $3 million.
The Main Event is scheduled for July 29 and it will take five days of play for a winner to be determined. The tournament offers a guaranteed prize pool of $3 million. The five-day $350 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack with a guaranteed $1 million prize pool is yet another exciting event worth mentioning.
2016 ACOP Platinum Series XIV
The Asia Championship of Poker will stop at City of Dreams Macau from July 16-24 for the fourteenth Platinum Series poker festival. It will feature 11 different events, with all of these being either single-day or two-day ones. Some of the tournaments on the schedule will stimulate players to enter them with guaranteed prize pools of up to HK$500,000.
The HK$5,500 Main Event will actually be the one to offer a guaranteed HK$500,000 prize pool. It will take place on July 22-23.
