Laboratory for global compliance testing and auditing NMi announced today that it has become the first organization of its kind to be approved by the Colombian gambling regulator – COLJUEGOS, following the recent regulation of the country’s online gambling market.
The recent approval provides NMi with the opportunity to further expand its reach across Latin America and the Caribbean. With its entrance in Colombia, the testing laboratory now boasts presence in all key South American gambling markets. Peru, Panama, and the Bahamas have also become some of the most recent jurisdictions to have accredited NMi.
The announcement about the approval came after COLJUEGOS published in June a resolution stating that the testing laboratory had met all the necessary requirements to provide its services in Colombia. NMi will now be able to provide certification and audit services to both land-based and online gambling operators offering their options within the country’s borders.
Commenting on the latest announcement, Julian Borg-Barthet, Business Development Manager at NMi Gaming Division, said that they are delighted to be formally approved as a lab in Colombia and to have accreditation from all major Latin American jurisdictions.
Mr. Borg-Barthet further commented that it is very important to them to make sure that their customers meet all the necessary requirements upon entering the newly and highly regulated gambling markets in the region.
NMi Operations Manager (Canada) Ali Heydary pointed out that they will be running testing projects through their North American office when and if necessary in order to make sure that time zones meet the demands and needs of their Latin American and Caribbean customers. He further explained that they will be providing customers with transfers of approval in jurisdictions across the region.
It has also been announced that Swedish provider of online casino games and related options Play’n GO has partnered NMi to enter the Colombian market. Commenting on the recent partnership, Play’n GO Co-Founder and CEO Johan Törnqvist said that it is really important for them to offer their solutions in regulated markets around the world and that joining forces with NMi will result in the iGaming supplier entering the Colombian market almost immediately.
