Major casino operator MGM Resorts International announced that MGM National Harbor, a hotel and casino resort built on the bank of the Potomac River, will officially open doors for visitors on December 8, thus bringing the integrated resort experience to National Harbor in Maryland and to the surrounding areas.
MGM National Harbor is set to feature numerous gaming and non-gaming amenities, a luxury hotel, and food and beverage options of the highest class. Despite its bold and contemporary design, the venue corresponds to the rich historical spirit of its surroundings in a unique manner.
The greater portion of the property was built on a pedestal-like structure, with a seven-story parking garage under it. Covered by a sweeping roof, the structure is connected to an 18-story hotel tower. The hotel includes 308 rooms and suites, with sizes ranging between 400 and 3,210 square feet. All rooms and suits are boasting modern and elegant design.
Working in partnership with Live Nation, MGM National Harbor will hold regular entertainment events at its 3000-seat venue. Conferences and other similar events will take place at the 50-square-foot meeting facility. Bars and lounges, as well as restaurants and dining facilities managed by world-class chefs will also be at visitors’ avail.
Spa & Salon, a pool, which will be made available next spring, retail space, and many more will also be offered to guests of the property.
MGM National Harbor also includes Maryland’s sixth casino. The gambling venue at the soon-to-be-opened resort spreads over 125,000 square feet and features 3,300 slot machines and a rich variety of table games.
Commenting on the upcoming opening, MGM National Harbor General Manager Bill Boasberg said that they will introduce unprecedented experience to a region known to be one of the most popular US travel destinations. The official further noted that their resort combines world-class entertainment, nightlife, retail, art, and food and beverage options, as well as a high-energy casino, with all those being complemented by the “incredible panoramas” of D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, of course.
Located in Maryland’s Prince George’s County and surrounded by woodlands and the Potomac riverscape, MGM National Harbor certainly is yet another jewel in MGM Resorts International’s crown.
