Scientific Games Buys Karma Gaming Interactive Lottery Games

News

Leading provider of products and services for the gambling industry Scientific Games Corp. announced that it has acquired Karma Gaming’s full suite of interactive games. The purchase was completed in June 2016 and was aimed at enhancing Scientific Games’ interactive growth strategy and catalog of product offering.

Karma Gaming is known for the provision of a wide variety of products for lottery operators. Italian lottery company Lottomatica, Canada’s Loto Quebec, and the Georgia, Ohio, and Minnesota Lotteries in the United States are among the company’s most prominent clients. Under the recently closed deal, Scientific Games has acquired a number of interactive gaming titles, including eInsant and second-chance ones. Adding the games, the major supplier has further expanded its product offering and has strengthened its leading position in preparation for the digitally-ruled future. It is also important to note that following the games’ acquisition, Scientific Games has also hired Karma Gaming specialist developers.

James C. Kennedy, Group Chief Executive of the provider’s Lottery division, said that they are well-aware of the fact that lottery operators constantly face regulatory challenges when it comes to the provision of Internet and mobile products. As a result from this some lotteries have constraints with regard to going live with this type of offering, the executive added. Yet, Scientific Games is set to remain committed to providing its clients with player analytics, innovative interactive content, mobile apps, and secure lottery technology for online lottery sales in order to facilitate and boost the operations of that same clients.

Mr. Kennedy also noted that his company is currently working with some of the largest lottery operators in the United States, with the Arizona, Ohio, New York, and Massachusetts lotteries being among those.

Overall, Scientific Games currently services more than 150 international lotteries, almost all lottery operators in North America included, with its gaming content and related services and technology. Apart from its lottery focus, the company provides international markets with gaming machines, table game products and related utilities, draw-based and server-based lottery games and systems, and many more. It has been expanding its presence in different North American and international markets over the past several years.
