Betway Becomes All-Weather Championships Category Sponsor

News

Online gambling operator Betway Group has become the latest All-Weather Championships category sponsor. The horse racing championships are slated to begin on October 27 at Lingfield Park Racecourse.

The gambling company will sponsor three main categories throughout the fixtures scheduled to take place as part of the championships. These will be the Sprint, the Marathon, and the Middle-Distance divisions.

Betway has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal, joining fellow gambling operator 32Red as an All-Weather Championships category sponsor.

Betway has not partnered Arena Racing Company, which played instrumental role in the All-Weather Championships’ creation in 2013, for the first time. The companies had formerly joined forces for what had become known as the Betway Lincoln Race Meeting. The contest has become one of the most broadly anticipated within the British horse racing industry.

It was announced earlier this week that Betway has become an Authorised Betting Partner, sealing a three-year agreement with the British Horseracing Authority. As part of the deal, the gambling operator will fund the British horse racing industry by means of voluntary payments. In return, it will be provided with a number of benefits, including the right to title sponsor key UK racing events and increased brand visibility across major racecourses.

Commenting on Betway becoming category sponsor of the upcoming All-Weather Championships, David Leyden Dunbar, the Arena Racing Company’s Director of Sponsorship, said that they are excited to extend their existing partnership. He further noted that being an Autorised Betting Partner, the operator is aware of the “symbiotic nature” of the betting and racing industries.

As the official pointed out, Arena Racing Company is determined to continue showing the British horse racing’s value to the gambling industry and will keep on presenting Betway and other gambling operators with “pioneering sponsorship opportunities.”

Betway Marketing Director Anthony Werkman commented that it is a real thrill to sponsor the All-Weather Championships, which have turned into a huge success over the past several years. The official also noted that this partnership, together with the authorised betting agreement with the British Horseracing Authority, indicate his company’s commitment to the British horse racing industry.

Betway and 32Red are the two gambling operators to have expressed interest in sponsoring categories at the upcoming All-Weather Championships. Rival companies Unibet, Ladbrokes, and Coral have sponsored previous editions of the popular contest.
