
The company operates in the sports betting, casino, and poker segments. Revenue from sports betting amounted to £66.7 million during the reviewed period. Casino games generated £68.5 million. Poker contributed £3.2 million to the total gross winnings revenue reported. Other gaming operations generated the amount of £3.9 million.
The gambling operator also registered an all-time high in EBITDA, as well. It amounted to £33.1 million, compared to EBITDA of £17.4 million generated during the third quarter of the previous year. Underlying EBITDA totaled £33.9 million, up from £19.6 million from 2015. Profit before tax increased to £24.8 million during this year’s third quarter. Profit after tax amounted to £21 million.
Unibet pointed out in its quarterly report that all its brands performed very well during the three months ended September 30. The operator had a total of 1,067,910 active customers by the end of the quarter.
The Nordics and Western Europe remained the operator’s core markets during the third quarter of the year. Revenue from the Nordic region amounted to £63.9 million. Revenue from operations in Western European countries totaled £62.8 million. Central, Eastern, and Southern Europe contributed £12.1 million. Revenue from other jurisdictions totaled £3.5 million.
Revenue for the nine months ended September 30, 2016 amounted to £391.3 million, up from £242.7 million generated during the same period of the previous year. Sports betting operations generated revenue of £177 million during the reported nine months. Casino contributed £194.5 million to the total revenue posted for the period. Revenue from poker amounted to £9 million. Other operations generated the amount of £10.8 million.
Revenue from the Nordics totaled £172.1 million during the reported period. Revenue from Western European operations amounted to £176.2 million. Central, Eastern, and Southern European operations accounted for £34.5 million of the total revenue generated. Revenue from other jurisdictions amounted to £8.5 million.
EBITDA totaled £81.8 million for the reported nine months, reflecting an increase from £50.8 million. The company reported underlying EBITDA of £84.4 million, up from £53.7 million. Profit before tax totaled £62.7 million and profit after tax stood at £54.5 million.
Late in September, Unibet’s Board proposed to re-brand the gambling group to Kindred Group plc to improve “synergy, clarity, and flexibility” and to create better growth opportunities across all segments.
