NYX Gaming Receives British Columbia Regulatory Green Light

News

Supplier of online gaming content and related products NYX Gaming Group announced that it has received an unconditional registration as a Class B provider by the British Columbia Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch (GPEB). This allows the company to introduce its offering to the Canadian province.

OpenBet, NYX Gaming’s sports betting technology division, has been working with local gambling regulators since June 2010, when it first delivered its products to British Columbia gambling customers. Working closely together with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), OpenBet launched the first online casino to be operating not only in the province but in Canada as a whole. Two years later, the gambling provider extended the website’s offering by adding sports betting options.

Commenting on the announcement that NYX Gaming is now certified to provide its products in the Canadian province, Group CEO Matt Davey said that bringing their content to the highly regulated jurisdiction is indicative of the synergies driven through the OpenBet acquisition. NYX Gaming purchased the leading sportsbook technology supplier earlier in 2016.

The BCLC has reported that net win increased to C$2.36 billion during the past fiscal year, up 24% year-on-year. The significant growth was to a great extent driven by the expanded online gambling operations provided within the province.

GPEB has been charged with the regulation of gaming operations in British Columbia. Its main responsibilities include the protection of the integrity of gambling customers, operators and suppliers, and equipment. It also needs to ensure that operations are conducted in full compliance with the British Columbia Gaming Control Act.

NYX Gaming provides online games, platforms, and a number of other solutions for the international gambling industry. Its products are available across all channels and cover all product verticals within the industry, including casino, poker, sportsbook, bingo, lottery, and social gaming. The company offers games created by four in-house development studios and by more than 40 third-party ones. Internationally recognized gambling operators like bet365, Mr Green, Betsson, and William Hill, among others, have been working with the supplier and have opted for its offering and services.

NYX Gaming is set to report its third-quarter results on November 15. The company generated C$35.2 million in revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2016, reflecting a 230% increase year-on-year driven mainly by the OpenBet acquisition.
