NetEnt Enters Portuguese iGaming Market with Betclic

News

Leading Swedish casino games developer NetEnt announced the launch of its award-winning games on the regulated online gambling market in Portugal. Portuguese players are now granted access to select games from NetEnt’s portfolio which are live and available via licensed online gambling operator Betclic.

The casino and sports betting operator is, in fact, an already existing customer of NetEnt. Betclic was the first gambling operator to break into this newly regulated market when it launched its sports betting offering in Portugal earlier this year, in May.

Enrico Bradamante, Chief of European Market Operations and Managing Director of NetEnt Malta Ltd., deems breaking into the Portuguese regulated market another milestone for the Swedish provider of online gaming solutions. In Bradamante’s words, NetEnt continues to pursue its growth strategy in order to expand on various regulated markets across the globe.

Bradamante emphasizes that NetEnt’s new partner, Betclic, has succeeded in cementing its strong presence on the regulated market in Portugal. The Managing Director concluded by expressing his confidence that Betclic players on the Portuguese market would appreciate the games the Swedish software developer has to offer.

This launch on the territory of Portugal marks yet another entry into the regulated European market for the leading casino products supplier. Earlier this month, NetEnt announced it has signed an agreement with its existing customer Codere, a leading Spanish multinational company which specializes in the private gaming sector.

Codere has a considerable presence on the brick-and-mortar casino market across Spain, Italy and Latin America. As Codere is also among the largest casino operators in Mexico, the partnership secured NetEnt’s successful expansion on the regulated gambling casino market in the country.

In May, the software developer obtained a gaming license to provide its services on the territory of Romania. In October, NetEnt revealed it has entered yet another agreement to license its gaming content to German gaming machine supplier Gauselmann for use on the Italian market.

Founded in 1996, NetEnt has succeeded in cementing its position of a pioneer in the online gambling industry and has established long-standing partnerships with some of the largest web-based casino operators such as LeoVegas, Paddy Power, and bet365. The company is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and has offices in a number of countries including Sweden, Malta, Gibraltar, Ukraine, and Poland.
