The poker room at King’s Casino Rozvadov has gradually become a favorite destination to poker players from all around Europe as well as to some of the biggest live poker tours to be taking place on the continent.
Major gambling operator 888 has been the latest to opt for the venue to play host to its live poker festival – 888Live. The Czech village of Rozvadov has been a gathering place for poker pros and fans of the game since January 26, when the latest 888-sponsored live festival kicked off at the local casino.
Jonas Kraft has become the latest name to be added to the 888Live Rozvadov winners’ list. Last night, the German topped the field of the €5,300 High Roller event to collect his career best cash of €49,875. Kraft faced the likes of former November Niner Pierre Neuville, and popular poker pros Enzo Del Piero, Niall Farrell, and Ludovic Geilich on his road to victory.
The 888Live Rozvadov High Roller at King’s Casino featured unlimited re-entries format. By the time registration was closed, there were 18 entries and 3 re-entries to have the paid the event’s buy-in. The tournament featured a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000. The top three places got paid. Each of the three survivors were guaranteed a minimum payout of €19,950.
The High Roller was played over two days. The second and final day of the tournament saw 11 players return at the host venue to play down to a champion. And it took around ten hours of play for his name to become clear.
Local player Martin Kabrhel was Kraft’s final hurdle to the title. Two-handed play was set after the eventual champion eliminated Philipp Zukernik in 3rd place. The heads-up duel then began with Kraft holding three times more chips than his last remaining opponent.
The German took around an hour to finish off his Czech rival and thus secure the title. It was an action-packed hour that concluded in Kraft’s [Ah][Qh] prevailing over Kabrhel’s [7c][7h] on a board of [Qd][10s][8s][3d][5s]. The Czech player received €29,925 for his second-place finish.
Kraft is a frequent visitor at King’s Casino Rozvadov. The player has taken part in a number of live poker events held at the gambling venue over the years. In 2013, he won the GCOP III Vol. 2/6, Rozvadov €1,100 Main Event for €34,374.
