It was a funny high roller weekend at Aria Resort & Casino, although it was one shorter than previous such high roller weekends. Two $25,000 buy-in events were held at the gambling venue late last week, both attracting some of the world’s finest high roller players.
And it was a particularly funny weekend for Scott Seiver who won one of the events and collected a six-figure payout in the other to scoop more than half a million dollars by the end of the two-day Aria High Roller festival.
Seiver, who is a high roller regular and has won plenty of Aria’s higher buy-in events, started off his participation in the most recent high roller weekend at the casino by winning the 54th $25,000 buy-in event. The player faced fierce competition from the likes of Bryn Kenney, Jason Koon, and Sam Soverel, to name a few, but held up until the very end to capture the title.
Overall, the event saw 31 entries who generated a prize pool of $744,000. The money was split among the top five finishers, with Seiver taking home the lion’s share and Bryn Kenney collecting $186,000 for finishing as the runner-up.
Kenney was, in fact, the other big winner from the weekend. The player also finished 2nd in the 55th Aria High Roller, good for $211,000. His second-place finish came as a result from a three-way deal with Brian Rast and Seiver. Rast ended up with $237,555 in prize money, the largest portion of what had left from the prize pool. Seiver collected $163,445.
The high roller event drew a field of 30 entries. The prize pool of $720,000 was split in payouts that went to the five best performers.
Seiver added his winnings from the two tournaments to his already hefty poker bankroll to accumulate winnings of more than $22.4 million. The player has so far won quite a few of Aria’s tournaments and has finished in-the-money in an even greater number of those.
Kenney’s latest two cashes also boosted significantly his poker bankroll that now amounts to more than $14.8 million. Last but not least, Rast now has over $20.1 million in live tournament winnings, including the money from his most recent triumph. The player bested the field of a $50,000 Super High Roller at Aria back in February, scooping a massive payout of $772,800.
