King’s Casino in the Czech village of Rozvadov has over the years expanded its activities so much that action at the poker room never seems to stop. Last night, the Forbes Pokerman Open Spring Edition Main Event was completed with Germany’s Ducardo Ueberfeldt emerging as the winner as a result from a final three-way deal. The player collected €12,277 and the tournament trophy.

Local player Josef Baláž and David Sommer from Germany finished in second and third places, respectively, scooping €12,277 each.

Pokerman is a locally popular poker news outlet intended for the Czech and Slovak player communities. King’s Casino has been selected as one of the stops of Pokerman’s regular poker festivals. Europe’s largest poker room played host to the Forbes Pokerman Open from May 17-21, with the €110 buy-in Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000 kicking off on May 18.

The event attracted a massive field of 636 entries, of whom 223 re-entries. Eventually, the top 103 players got paid, min-payouts starting from €257. To reach and engage a wider playing audience, King’s Casino offered players the opportunity to qualify for the Main Event by playing various low buy-in satellites at King’s Casino itself as well as at other partnering casinos.

The tournament’s final table promised nothing but fierce competition and quality poker action. And it delivered on that promise. After twelve hours of battling, the final table was reached minutes before midnight on Sunday, with Ueberfeldt leading the final nine. It then took a little more than two hours for those final nine to be reduced to just three players. And none of the three survivors were ready to give up on the title without a good amount of fight.

Talks about a potential three-way deal emerged on several occasions throughout three-handed play, but one was not reached until shortly before 4 am on Monday. What is more, none of the three players grabbed a decisive lead over his remaining opponents. They stayed deep into action, packed with enough big blinds to keep playing for hours and hours.

The deal was finally struck with the three opponents standing less than one big blind apart from each other. Chips were counted and the three survivors shook hands on splitting what had remained of the prize pool and each receiving €12,277. Being the chip leader at the time with a very slight advantage, Ueberfeldt was crowned champion and was invited to pose for pictures with the trophy.

As mentioned above, action at King’s Casino never stops and even before the Forbes Pokerman Open was completed the King’s Bavaria Cup kicked off on Sunday at the card room. Day 1B of the €99 buy-in event is set to be played today, slated to begin at 7 pm local time. The event features a guaranteed prize pool of €100,000 and it is yet to become known whether it will be surpassed.
