If Day 1 of the 2017 Aria Super High Roller Bowl was packed with action, Day 2 of the $300,000 buy-in event sizzled with action. The tournament’s field was reduced to just 19 players, all of whom ready to fight fiercely for the $6 million first-place prize and the champion’s ring.

It was US poker pro Justin Bonomo to collect the most chips by the time the clock announced the end of Level 14. The player bagged and tagged 2,628,000 in chips, which he will come back with today at 1 pm Las Vegas time at Aria Resort & Casino and will try to multiply. Byron Kaverman, who kicked off Day 2 of the event as the chip leader, will return for Day 3 action second in chips with 2,063,000 and as the only other player to have passed the 2-million chip mark. Dan Shak had the third largest stack by the end of Day 2, although he is trailing behind the above-mentioned two with 1,482,000.

Bonomo started his determined march towards the chip lead very early on Day 2. The player eliminated 2012 Big One for ONE DROP winner Antonio Esfandiari shortly after cards were thrown in the air for Day 2 action. Bonomo was also responsible for the elimination of another accomplished poker pro – Nick Petrangelo.

Here it is interesting to note that the overnight chip leader comes fresh from two high roller victories at Aria. The player topped the field of the $10,500 and the $50,000 tournaments, held at the emblematic gambling venue only last week.

Notables to have remained in contention for the hefty first-place prize and the accompanying specially crafted ring include Daniel Negreanu, who will start Day 3 as the short stack, Jason Mecier, and former Super High Roller Bowl champions Brian Rast and Reiner Kempe, among others.

Aria’s Super High Roller Bowl has traditionally attracted not only professional poker’s finest representatives, but also wealthy poker enthusiasts. Comedian Kevin Hart was among the poker enthusiasts to join this year’s edition of the tournament.

Hart has made poker headlines over the past several months with his participation in some of the major events to have taken place. And it was not hard to see the actor in this new role. He fitted in in the poker ambiance quite naturally.

Hart was eliminated on Day 2 of the Super High Roller Bowl. However, he did not give up without a good fight. In fact, the comedian turned poker player eliminated two of the world’s most feared professionals. Hart busted Phil Hellmuth on Day 1 and high roller meister Fedor Holz on Day 2. Pokerholics certainly know that Hellmuth is a record-breaking winner of WSOP gold bracelets and Holz, despite his young age, has won multiple high roller events over the course of a very short period of time.

Super High Roller Bowl action is set to resume at 1 pm local time at Aria’s poker tables.
