Cara Delevingne Is Bookmakers’ Favorite for Next Bond Girl

Events & Reports

Despite previous comments that he would rather slash his wrists than play James Bond again, Daniel Craig confirmed last night that we will see him as the famously smug British Secret Service agent in the upcoming 25th installment of the popular movie series.

Craig has starred in four Bond movies so far and is the second longest-serving agent, with his service spanning back from 2006 when Casino Royale was released. Reports about the actor’s return first emerged last month, so his confirmation last night did not came as much of a surprise. On the other hand, fans of the series and of Craig’s interpretation of the world-famous Secret Service agent grew more than ecstatic about the actor’s renewed enthusiasm to appear in the next Bond movie.

Now as the name of the actor to portray James Bond in his new adventure is known, it is equally curious to see who will play his main romantic interest. Several actresses have been pointed to as potential candidates for the equally important role in the next installment of the series, but creators are yet to confirm. Until then, Bond fans who also happen to enjoy a punt could try their luck as bookmakers have already begun accepting bets for the next fair lady whom the smug agent will try to charm with his mysterious magnetism while chasing bad guys in perfectly-fitting designer suits.

And here are the five top choices for the next Bond girl, according to bookies.

Cara Delevingne

The young model turned actress is the current top pick for the Bond girl role. As a model, Delevingne has paraded her impeccable figure during a number of Victoria’s Secret, Chanel, and Dior fashion shows. As for her acting career, we have seen her as the mighty Enchantress in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad (2016) and most recently, as part of the star-studded cast of Luc Besson’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017).

Known for her rebelliousness and constant desire to resist convention, the 25-year-old star will certainly bring a pinch of liveliness and fresh air to the next Bond movie. Delevingne is priced at 1/2 with Paddy Power.

Emilia Clarke

Our favorite Khaleesi has also been named as a candidate for James Bond’s next romantic interest, although it is a bit of a pity that she would not be able to bring her dragons with her in the next Bond movie.

Clarke’s portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s hit production Game of Thrones has been overcoming fans with rich emotions of different nature for seven seasons now. And while her characters in the popular TV show is quite a tough lady, we have also seen the London-born actress as the oddly but cutely coquettish Lou Clark in the Me Before You (2016) tear-jerking drama.

Clarke is priced at 8/1 with Paddy Power.

Emma Watson

Little messy-haired Hermione Granger has grown into a beautiful and smart lady who may become the next Bond girl, according to bookmakers. Over the years, Bond movies have been criticized for objectifying women and it will be quite interesting to see how Emma Watson, famously known for her work as a gender equality advocate, would portray a woman who is supposed to swoon with emotion and affection for the charismatic Secret Service agent.

Odds are at 16/1 that Watson will be cast as the next Bond girl.

Alexandra Daddario

The blue-eyed Hollywood beauty recently appeared as Summer Quinn in the 2017 movie adaptation of the 1990s hit Baywatch TV show. Cinemaniacs also know her for her role as the flirty Lisa Tragnetti from the first season of HBO’s True Detective and as Blake Gaines in 2015 action drama San Andreas.

Paddy Power has priced Daddario at 18/1.

Priyanka Chopra

The Indian superstar’s name has also been among those to pop up in relation to the vacant Bond girl role. And while she has everything needed to play that role in the best possible manner, Chopra said in a recent interview with The Late Late Show’s James Corden that she would rather portray Bond. The Quantico actress further dwelt that she really hopes to see such iconic roles be played by women.

While the Bond role is occupied by Craig for now, odds are at 20/1 that Chopra would play the object of his romantic attention in the next installment.
