Bonus Rounds and Features
Path of the Penguin is relatively light on features and it does not sport any bonus rounds. The Free Spins can be triggered by hitting 3 or more Scatters anywhere on the reels. When this happens you will be awarded 5 Free Spins, which is then followed up by a pick-and-choose selection, where you can add additional free spins to this round or straight up cash prizes. Sadly, additional free spins cannot be triggered from a free round, but any winnings resulting from one are tripled. This is can only be described as disappointing, considering that it is also the only special feature that the game offers.
Conclusion
Path of the Penguin is not a particularly appealing game when everything is taken into account. The payouts for the symbols are neither too low, nor too high, but you will have to rely on them to see any significant winnings. The lack of bonus rounds seriously impacts the game’s potential as the basic gameplay can only take you so far. The theme of Path of the Penguin is lighthearted, quirky, and generally entertaining, but it cannot make up for all of the game’s shortcomings.
This is not by any means the newest game to come out of Microgaming’s studios, but it still cannot compare to other titles that were released by the software provider around the same time. Overall, Path of the Penguin does precious little to entertain you and it does not bring anything new to the slot genre.
