The World Poker Tour is heading off to a strong start of what we all hope will be a great year for live tournament poker with a festival at The Gardens Casino in Hawaiian Gardens, California. The next event on the Main Tour schedule of the popular poker series is slated to kick off on January 1 and to run all the way through January 16.
The Gardens Casino last hosted a WPT Main Tour festival this past July. Simon Lam was the person who topped the 584-strong field of the $5,000 buy-in Main Event to scoop a payout of $564,055 and a brand-new, shiny Mercedes-Benz SLC Roadster.
The upcoming WPT Gardens Poker Championships will feature 20 different tournaments played over January 1-16. Some of them will offer guaranteed prize pools to boost interest among poker players from the area, the rest of the nation, and hopefully international players.
A single-day $175 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack with action clock and a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000 will kick off poker festivities at The Gardens Casino on the very first day of the new year. On January 4, players will be able to take part in a $175 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack with a guaranteed $100,000 prize pool.
Fans of mixed-game poker action will not be disappointed to see that the WPT Gardens Poker Championships will feature two such tournaments. A $350 H.O.R.S.E. event will take place on January 10 and an Eight Game Mix Six Max with a $5,000 buy-in fee will be held on January 16.
The schedule of the poker festival also includes a $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six Max. That tournament will run on January 15.
Here it is important to note that all tournaments on the schedule of the upcoming WPT festival but one will be single-day ones. As one would suggest, the Main Event will be the one that will require a little bit more days to be completed.
Main Event Information

Another interesting thing to take into account is the fact that the official six-handed final table of the tournament will actually be played on March 12 at HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas. This comes as part of WPT’s partnership with the eSports venue. Under that partnership, the popular poker series will hold its televised Main Event final tables at the arena where fans of the game will be offered unique viewing experience. The WPT Gardens Main Event will be the first televised WPT event of the series’ Season XVII.
The WPT Gardens Championships will feature a high roller tournament, as well. The $25,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six Max is scheduled for January 16 and will certainly draw some seasoned high rollers to clash for additional poker prestige.
