Christmas has arrived before we all knew, bringing the smell of ginger cookies, funny but incredibly snugly sweaters, and tons of excitement in our homes. This holiday season, Christmas will also bring a plethora of opportunities for avid poker players to challenge their skills and win a share of exciting prize pools.
Here are some of the poker tournaments set to take place over the next week, all of them aiming to spice up the holidays for those who love the game of poker.
December Deep Stacks Challenge
The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City will be welcoming players in the days after Christmas for the thrilling December Deep Stacks Challenge. The event will run from December 26 through December 30 and will feature five single-day tournaments.
A $180 No-Limit Deepstack with a guaranteed prize pool of $20,000 will mark the beginning of the Challenge at the host casino. The other four events will feature buy-ins of $230, $300, $400, and $180. Participants will have the chance to win a share of guaranteed prize pools of $30,000, $40,000, $50,000, and $20,000, respectively.
December Holiday Deep Stack Series
Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady, New York will too celebrate Christmas with a Deep Stack series. The event will take place on December 26-29 and will feature as many as four single-day tournaments for players who want some poker fun in the first few days after Christmas.
A $250 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty will kick off poker festivities at the host casino on December 26. On the very next day, a $250 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em Deep Stack will take place at Rivers Casino. A $200 No-Limit Hold’em Bounty on December 28 and a $570 No-Limit Hold’em Deep Stack Survivor on December 29 are also part of the schedule of the December Holiday Deep Stack Series.
New Year’s Weekend Special
Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut will treat poker players with a New Year’s Weekend special event. The tournament series is set to begin on December 28 and to run through January 1.
Its schedule includes five No-Limit Hold’em tournaments with buy-ins of $250, $300, or $400 and guaranteed prize pools of up to $50,000. Interested players will also be able to play different formats of the game, including super stack turbo tournaments, which will certainly be packed with rapidly unfolding poker action.
Holiday Weekend Series
Last but not least, Dover Downs in Dover, Delaware will hold a Holiday Weekend Series to celebrate the end of 2018. The event’s schedule includes four No-Limit Hold’em tournaments and each of them will take place over a single day. The series will run on December 28-31.
Buy-ins will vary from $50 to $220. Each of the tournaments will feature a guaranteed prize pool. A $125 No-Limit Hold’em with a guaranteed prize pool of $10,000 will kick off celebrations at the host casino on December 28. Players will be busy with a $220 No-Limit Hold’em with guaranteed $20,000 in prize money on the next day. A $65 No-Limit Hold’em with a guaranteed prize pool of $4,000 and a $50 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em with a guaranteed prize pool of $2,000 will wrap up the poker year at Dover Downs.
