Play’n GO grows Swedish online gambling presence with an online slots distribution deal with Svenska Spel

Supplier of online casino games Play’n GO has secured a new strategic partnership with another major operator, the company has announced.

As Play’n GO and pretty much half of the online gambling world is looking to expand into the highly attractive and newly liberalized Swedish market, the supplier has landed a content distribution deal with the biggest player in Sweden’s digital gaming field – Svenska Spel Sport & Casino. With this latest partnership, Play’n GO is looking to further solidify its position in that newly regulated jurisdiction.

Play’n GO has been part of the regulated Swedish gambling space since the Scandinavian nation’s new law took effect on January 1, 2019. Over the months of regulated gaming in the county, the supplier has inked distribution deals with several locally licensed operators.

News about Play’n GO and Svenska Spel Sport & Casino teaming up arrived shortly after it emerged that the online gambling brand has cemented itself as the holder of the biggest share in the newly re-organized market over the first three months of its opening.

Svenska Spel Sport & Casino is the online gambling operation of Svenska Spel, the company that held the exclusive rights to opereate nearly all forms of gambling in Sweden up until the new law took effect.

Svenska Spel announced recently that it has terminated all its online casino adverts as researchers have sounded alarm bells that of all the different types of gamblers, those playing online casino games find it the most difficult to control their wagering habits.

Working with the Best in the Industry

Svenska Spel’s move to nix online casino ads has not impacted its continued effort to diversify its portfolio and the recent partnership with Play’n GO came as an indication that further diversification is on the way. The gambling operator launched its digital business early this year.

Commenting on securing another major customer, Play’n GO CEO Johan Törnqvist said in a recent press release announcing the deal that they pride themselves on working with the best in the industry and that joining forces with Svenska Spel is an illustration to that.

Mr. Törnqvist went on to say that Svenska Spel and its online casino have already gained a “substantial portion of the online casino market” of Sweden and to be “entertaining their audience” is a great step forward for them and for the nascent market.

Jonas Nygren, VP for Casino at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, added that “adding top-quality games to [their]

offering” is a top priority for them, so a partnership with Play’n GO “made perfect sense.”
