Online gaming supplier Microgaming has partnered one of Italy’s leading gambling operators to strengthen its foothold in that lucrative market.
Under the terms of the latest deal of the Isle of Man-based provider of casino content, its range of titles has gone live with SKS365 Group’s largest brand – Planetwin365.
Licensed to provide services in Italy, Malta, and Serbia, SKS365 is one of the fastest growing retail and digital sports betting operators. Through its flagship brand, Planetwin365, the company has established a leading position in Italy, which is currently Europe’s second largest regulated market, behind the United Kingdom.
With Microgaming being one of the industry’s veterans and offering some of the most popular slots in the space, including hit titles Immortal Romance, Jurassic World, Book of Oz, and Wicked Tales: Dark Red, SKS365 will now be able to further cement itself in the Italian iGaming landscape.
Of going live with Microgaming’s games, SKS365 CMO and Country Manager Italy Francesco Gaziano said that they are proud of this new partnership with “such a historic and reputable supplier” and that they are confident Microgaming’s catalogue will enhance the experience they provide to Planetwin365’s Italian players.
This is the second major content supply deal that SKS365 has announced in recent weeks. Last month, the company went live with the Live Casino solutions of Swedish provider Evolution Gaming.
Microgaming’s Italian Expansion
The SKS365 and Planetwin365 deal has broadened Microgaming’s Italian footprint. The company has been present in the local market since day one of regulated gambling in Italy in 2011. Aside from its latest local partner, the Isle of Man provider has also been supplying monthly major operators such as PokerStars Casino, Eurobet, and Lottomatica with its latest releases.
Microgaming’s hundreds of slots and table games are available in both English and Italian languages in the local gambling space.
Of their deal with SKS365 Group, Andrew Clucas, Chief Operating Officer at Microgaming, said that they are looking forward to that collaboration and the opportunity to further strengthen their Italian presence.
Mr. Clucas added that Planetwin365’s players can now enjoy a combination of Microgaming’s blockbuster slots as well as a mix of new and classic original titles.
Among other things, Microgaming is famous for its progressive jackpot network which has paid out more than €1.1 billion to its players since its inception.
Last month, the online gaming supplier revealed that its progressive slots awarded nearly €90 million in winnings across more than 1,150,000 jackpots during the first half of the year. There were eight players who were paid out seven- or eight-figure jackpots in the six months to June 30, 2019, accounting for more than €43 million.
During the first half of the year, Microgaming awarded the third-largest jackpot ever hit in its history as an online casino content supplier. A Zodiac Casino player won €13,328,028.16 playing Microgaming’s Africa-themed progressive slot Mega Moolah.
Last September, a Grand Mondial Casino player hit the largest-ever win on Microgaming’s progressive network, scooping a record-breaking €18,915,872.81 payout.
The casino games supplier has recently expanded its footprint across multiple markets through partnerships with the likes of 888, Mansion, and BGO.
