Melco Resorts & Entertainment has announced job opportunities for its last Cyprus Casinos (C2) satellite casino location in the Republic of Cyprus. The facility is slated to open doors in Paphos in late 2019.
Melco said in a statement to local media that it seeks 30 “capable and enthusiastic” individuals to join the C2 Paphos team. The company will hold a C2 Open Career Day on September 4 from 10 am to 3 pm local time at The Fifth Floor in Paphos.
Members of Melco’s Talent Acquisition Team will conduct interviews for gaming machines attendants, security officers, and cashiers. The successful candidates for the available vacancies will be notified within a few weeks.
The successful job applicants that will be hired as gaming machine attendants will have to attend and successfully complete a two-month training program that will include theoretical and on-the-job training. All EU citizens aged over 21 will be eligible to apply for any of the available vacancies.
C2 Paphos
Melco and Cyprus Casinos are yet to announce the opening date for the C2 Paphos satellite casino, but have said that the facility will open doors in late 2019. The venue will be located in the tourist-busy Geroskipou area on the main beach road.
The entire casino complex will occupy a 2,600-square-meter plot, with the actual building spreading across approximately 550 square meters. The satellite gambling venue will feature 50 slot machines and a Columbia Bistro. C2 Paphos will also offer around 25 dedicated parking spaces for patrons.
Commenting on the newly announced vacancies, Melco Cyprus VP Human Resources Victoria Michaelidou said that the company’s operational facilities have already created 800 jobs that offer competitive remuneration and benefits package, and that they want Cyprus residents and EU nationals to consider “C2 and Melco as a career opportunity not only locally but within the global entertainment industry.”
Cyprus’ Other Satellite Casinos
As mentioned above, C2 Paphos will be Melco’s final satellite casino to open doors in Cyprus. Including its Paphos facility, Melco will be operating a total of five venues around the tiny Mediterranean republic – a temporary casino in Limassol and four satellite facilities.
The temporary casino in Limassol opened doors in June 2018 and will remain operational until Melco’s City of Dreams Mediterranean luxury complex is ready to swing its doors open in late 2021. The gambling operator broke ground on its first integrated resort outside Asia this past spring.
Melco debuted its first two satellite casinos – one in Nicosia and the other in Larnaca – late last year. The third one, which is based in the heart of Ayia Napa, opened doors in mid-July.
It was last month again when Melco and its C2 casino brand celebrated the millionth visitor of their Cypriot casinos. Oana Georgiana Luca was announced to have been the millionth visitor to go through the doors of Cyprus Casinos. She visited C2 Limassol to help Melco and its local casino operation celebrate this important milestone.
