Evolution Gaming Obtains License in Pennsylvania

News

Swedish provider of Live Casino products Evolution Gaming has reached another important milestone that would help it deliver its US expansion strategy.

In a press release from earlier today the company said that it has obtained a conditional Interactive Gaming Manufacturer license from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. As a result Evolution will be able to deliver its Live Casino solutions on behalf of locally licensed online gambling operators.

The conditional license from the PGCB enables the Live Casino supplier to move forward with its plans to build a live studio in the state.

Evolution was the first Live Casino provider to be authorized to deliver its products in the state of New Jersey. The company marked its entry into New Jersey’s regulated online gambling market in August 2018 when it debuted its first-ever US-based Live Casino studio.

Evolution has also become the first provider of Live Casino solutions to obtain a license in Pennsylvania. The Keystone State legalized online gambling in the fall of 2017 as part of a gambling overhaul package adopted by local legislators in a bid for the state to patch up a massive budget gap. Pennsylvania’s first online casinos went live in mid-July, and they will soon be able to boost their offering with Evolution’s Live Casino products.

The company said that plans for the construction of its Pennsylvania-based live studio were already underway.

US Expansion

Commenting on today’s announcement, James Stern, Chief Business Development Officer – America & Land-Based at Evolution, said that they have seen “phenomenal” demand for Live Casino products in the United States.

Mr. Stern added that they are delighted to be able to further expand their US operations and to open a standalone studio in Pennsylvania that would serve both the state’s online and land-based casino operations.

To further cement itself in neighboring New Jersey, Evolution unveiled plans to double the size of its studio in Atlantic City. As a result, the provider expects more US licensees to create dedicated tables and environments and expand “the games portfolio by adding award-winning ‘crowd pleasers’ to the existing games line-up.”

In New Jersey, Evolution has partnered online gambling brand 888casino, which recently revealed an upgraded website, as well as with Atlantic City’s Resorts Casino Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City, and Ocean Casino Resort, among others.

Evolution’s North American expansion also included the opening of a dedicated Live Casino studio in Vancouver, Canada in early 2018.

In Europe, the Live Casino provider recently penned a commercial deal with Greentube Alderney Limited, part of Novomatic Interactive, the online gambling division of gambling giant NOVOMATIC. Under the terms of the deal, Greentube would use Evolution’s Live Casino solutions in the markets it has been authorized to provide its services, with some of those being the UK, Spain, and Italy.

The agreement with Greentube would help Evolution further expand and strengthen its foothold in multiple regulated European markets.
