SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, soon-to-be-rebranded as Rivers Casino Philadelphia, will today debut two sports lounges at the city’s Wells Fargo Center to celebrate the Philadelphia Flyers’ home opener against the New Jersey Devils.
The lounges are located on the arena’s Main Concourse and its redesigned top level, the New City Terrace. They will feature nearly 100 screens, offering sports fans the chance to watch the Flyers and 76ers games as well as other events taking place at Wells Fargo Center or anywhere else.
Both lounges were created by Chicago-based DMAC Architecture, the same designer that was tasked with creating SugarHouse Casino’s permanent sportsbook, which opened doors this past June, or a little over six months after the gambling venue entered Pennsylvania’s sports betting mix with last December’s launch of a temporary wagering facility.
The BetRivers.com Sports Lounge and the Rivers Casino Philadelphia Sports Lounge reflect SugarHouse Casino’s pending rebrand as Rivers Casino Philadelphia and the eventual transitioning of the PlaySugarHouse.com platform to BetRivers.com in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
As mentioned above, both sports lounges are set to open doors and welcome their first visitors tonight when the Flyers are set to host the New Jersey Devils.
Commenting on the upcoming debut of the two facilities, Valerie Camillo, President of Business Operations for the Flyers and the Wells Fargo Center, said that they are thrilled to launch their partnership with SugarHouse and that the opening of the two sports lounges will “undoubtedly elevate the game day experience at the Wells Fargo Center” as both spaces “are stunning additions to what has already been the most transformative phase of our renovation project.”
The New Lounges
The Rivers Casino Philadelphia Sports Lounge is located on the Main Concourse level in the completely redesigned south end of the arena. It occupies 5,680 square feet of space and features 10 86-inch screens, 16 65-inch monitors at the bar, seating areas, and odds boards.
The BetRivers.com Sports Lounge is located on the New City Terrace. It faces the bowl, enabling fans to watch the live action as it unfolds below. It occupies 6,500 square feet and features multiple spaces for fans to take in the game. Each of those spaces features club chairs, bar, and table seating as well as a 22-feet by eight-feet LED video wall and about a dozen of live action 86-inch, 65-inch, and 50-inch screens.
The partnership between the Wells Fargo Center and SugarHouse Casino also includes a marketing partnership that secures the gambling venue with advertising rights inside the arena’s bowl and throughout the concourse as well as via radio, billboards, and digital media placements.
Commenting on tonight’s launch of the two sports lounges, Mattias Stetz, COO of Rush Street Interactive, said that they cannot wait for Philadelphia sports fans to experience these new sports lounges and that they know “how passionate this city is when it comes to sports and we took great care to make sure these lounges have everything guests need to watch and get in on the action as it’s happening.”
Rush Street Interactive is the operator of the on-site and digital sportsbooks for SugarHouse Casino and its sister property Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. As mentioned above, SugarHouse Casino is in the middle of its planned rebrand as Rivers Casino Philadelphia as part of its parent company’s strategy to bring its portfolio of properties under the same brand.
