The date for the inaugural edition of the Southern European Gaming Awards (SEG Awards 2019) is fast approaching and the race has entered its final stages.

The awards ceremony will take place on November 8 at Radisson Blu Hotel Milan as part of the second annual European Gaming Congress. Both the congress and the awards event are organized by European Gaming Media and Events.

Organizers announced this past Tuesday the official shortlist for this year’s SEG Awards. The awards event aims to recognize online gambling operators, affiliates, and industry providers in 26 different categories for their achievements in their respective areas throughout the year. Following a very competitive online public voting stage, the shortlisted candidates in each of the 26 categories are now clear.

The Shortlist and the Awards Event

As mentioned earlier, the first-ever SEG Awards will recognize gambling industry stakeholders in a wide number of categories, ranging from best casino and sports betting operators to best customer support. The selection of the nominees and the winners is set to take place in four stages, and three of those have already been completed.

The first stage – the nominations period – took place between July 15 and August 31. Organizers then opened an online voting process that was conducted between September 16 and October 13. Based on the votes received, organizers shortlisted five, or in some cases more than five, candidates in each category that will compete for an award. The shortlist was revealed on Tuesday, October 15, to mark the end of the third stage leading up to the awards event next month.

The winners in each of the 26 categories will be determined on November 8 at the first edition of the SEG Awards. Delegates attending the European Gaming Congress in Milan will be able to vote for those of the nominees they deem most deserving of being named the winners in their respective categories.
