Casino Supplier Yggdrasil Nabs Isle of Man B2B License

News

Online casino content supplier Yggdrasil has obtained a B2B software license from the Isle of Man Supervision Commission to secure long-term presence across a number of existing markets, it emerged today.

The company’s new Isle of Man license brings the total number of permits it has secured so far to eight across four major regulated jurisdictions, with those being the United Kingdom, Malta, Gibraltar, and Romania.

Founded in 2013, Yggdrasil boasts an ever-growing portfolio of online slots and casino table games as well as a set of engagement tools aimed at helping gambling operators boost retention rates and revenues.

The company has over the years made sure to implement policies and procedures that focus on player protection and fair treatment. And in accordance with the terms of its licenses from various jurisdictions, it has also harnessed measures to secure the integrity of its games across all devices they can be played on.

Yggdrasil has also been focused on expanding its presence in new and existing markets and the recently granted license from Isle of Man authorities indicates that it will look to deliver on that strategy this year, following last year’s introduction of its content in multiple new markets and the signing of multiple content supply partnerships that cemented the company’s footprint in existing markets, as well.

Highly Regulated and Highly Compliant

Commenting on their new license, Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist said that they have been highly regulated and highly compliant in every major gaming jurisdiction” ever since they entered the online gambling industry nearly seven years ago.

Mr. Elmqvist went on that his company takes great pride in “adhering to regulatory best practice” and places “great emphasis on compliance and responsible gaming across all our products.”

Yggdrasil’s boss also noted that after the Isle of Man license, the games supplier will pursue certification in more new jurisdictions in the years to come.

News about obtaining an eighth iGaming license arrive just shortly after Yggdrasil debuted its content in Finland’s online gambling market. After a content supply deal with the Finnish gambling monopoly, Veikkaus, that was signed in the fall of 2018 and successful integration, Yggdrasil titles went live with the gambling operator in December 2019.

It was last year again when the major supplier secured its first foray in the lucrative LatAm region through a landmark deal with Patagonia Entertainment. In 2019, Yggdrasil also entered the Czech and Spanish online gambling markets and was further able to launch its content in Sweden following the reorganization of the Scandinavian nation’s iGaming and sports betting market early that year.
