Habanero Enters Romania with Winbet Casino Content Supply Deal

News

Online slots and table games supplier Habanero has taken its portfolio of content to a new regulated market through a deal with a locally licensed major online gambling operator.

The casino games creator announced Wednesday that it has entered the Romanian iGaming market after clinching a commercial deal with iGaming operator Winbet and securing the necessary certification from the Romanian gambling regulator, ONJN.

Habanero’s recent deal with Winbet represented an extension of the supplier’s previously signed agreement with Winbet-affiliated online gambling platform supplier EGT Ukraine.

Headquartered in Bulgaria, Winbet operates land-based and online casinos and provides sports betting products, as well. The company has in recent years expanded significantly its regional presence across Southeast Europe and the CIS markets.

In Romania, it has cemented itself as one of the leaders in the local market, which was reorganized in the mid-2010s to provide interested online gambling operators with the opportunity to obtain licenses from the local regulator and operate in a regulated environment.

As mentioned earlier, Habanero’s content library has recently been certified by the Romanian National Gambling Office. And under the supplier’s deal with Winbet, it has provided the gambling operator with access to its entire suite of 58 slots and table games.

Romania Among Many Key Targets for 2020

Commenting on their Romanian debut, Habanero’s European Head of Business Development, Arcangelo Lonoce, said that following their record-breaking 2019, they are delighted to be ringing in 2020 with a partnership with a leading operator that enabled them to enter Romania.

Mr. Lonoce went on that as “one of Europe’s true rising stars,” Romania has been one of their key targets for 2020 and that as part of their strategy to expand in the Romanian market, they are set to soon announce “plenty more deals” in that market.

Of the addition of Habanero content to their offering, Winbet Romania COO Mark Adonia said that they are “thrilled to be the first in the Romanian market to integrate Habanero’s immersive gaming portfolio.”

News about Habanero’s entry into Romania emerge shortly after the company debuted its library in another new market. Last month, the games creator announced that it has entered Portugal as part of its strategy to grow its regulated presence.

Habanero’s Portuguese debut wrapped a busy year for the supplier that saw it sign a string of partnerships with leading European operators in a number of markets, including Croatia, Lithuania, Georgia, and the UK.

As for its plans for 2020, Habanero has said that it will focus on building on its previous outstanding year and will continue its rapid expansion across Europe. Habanero will also look to expand its footprint across South America, a region that has been gaining a lot of industry attention in recent months.
