The world is stuck in quarantine due to the global coronavirus outbreak and many are spending their time at home playing online poker.
As a result the sector is experiencing a big boom, probably the biggest since Chris Moneymaker took down the WSOP Main Event after qualifying via an online satellite tourney to change the game for good.
In the face of the global coronavirus situation, news emerged a few hours ago that a popular high roller series will take place online to make sure participants are safe and healthy.
Poker Central has teamed up with online poker expert partypoker to debut together the Poker Masters Online festival.
The first digital edition of Poker Masters will include 30 high roller poker tournaments that will be taking place from April 12, 2020 through April 26, 2020. Players from all over the world will be able to gather online for two weeks of quality online poker action in a variety of formats and buy-ins.
The inaugural Poker Masters festival took place in the fall of 2017. The event was held at ARIA Las Vegas. There have been two Poker Masters editions since then, of which the latest one took place this past November.

Partypoker is offering $15.25 million in guarantees up for grabs in the first ever Poker Masters Online high roller festival.
As mentioned earlier, the inaugural edition of the online festival will include 30 tournaments. Buy-ins for those will range from $10,300 to $51,000 for the Main Event.
The Poker Masters Online schedule includes both No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments with 6-Max and 8-Max formats available. Guarantees for these events vary from $250,000 all the way up to $2 million for the Main Event.
The highlight of the festival – the $51,000 No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max Main Event is scheduled to take place on April 26, 2020. As mentioned above, the tourney features a $2 million guarantee that could easily be surpassed given the current interest in online poker as a healthy alternative to play a game many love.
The Poker Masters Online champion will be awarded $50,000 and the coveted Poker Masters purple jacket.
This is not the first time partypoker and Poker Central partner up for an exciting poker festival. Previous projects included the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS Tour, Super High Roller Bowl Bahamas, and Super High Roller Bowl Russia.
Commenting on their upcoming joint poker festival, partypoker Managing Director Tom Waters said that they are pleased to be able to “give players the chance to continue doing what they love and play the tournament in online format.”
Mr. Waters went on that “the Poker Masters brand carries significant weight in the poker community and we believe this innovative online format will be appealing for fans and players alike.”
Poker Central President Sam Simmons added that “partypoker is the right landing spot for our tournament brand to evolve into a new format” and that they value their partnership with the online poker operator “as a way to bring the poker community together in these uncertain times.”
