LeoVegas Migrates Rocket X UK-Facing Gambling Brands to Proprietary Platform

News

Online gambling operator LeoVegas today announced that it has completed the migration of several UK-facing brands under the collective name of Rocket X to its proprietary technical platform.

The company said that as a result of the migration, all of its iGaming and betting brands in the UK are now running on its own technology platform.

LeoVegas united several acquired UK-facing online gambling assets under the Rocket X brand in the spring of 2018. The assets included brands such as 21.co.uk, Bet UK, and Pink Casino among others. LeoVegas obtained them from Intellectual Property & Software Limited and two other companies in early 2018.

The gambling operator said today that the integration of the Rocket X operations onto its platform creates a “more focused and efficient business, which fully utilizes the Group’s economies of scale in technology, product, and organization.”

LeoVegas also noted that the recently completed migration contributes to improved customer experience in the form of expanded variety of games, payment options, and faster functionality.

Migration Makes LeoVegas “Even More Scalable”

Commenting on the recently completed migration, LeoVegas Group CEO Gustaf Hagman said that this was a milestone for the entire group and above all for its technology department and its employees who work in the UK market.

Mr. Hagman went on that he was impressed by how the migration was completed in a short time and during a situation in which all of their employees work from home.

The LeoVegas chief also pointed out that the migration of their UK brands to their proprietary platform makes them even more scalable and will enable the Rocket X brands to “benefit from all of the innovation that is developed on our platform.”

Full Control over All Technology

After acquiring the Rocket X brands and prior the completion of the migration, LeoVegas has conducted online gaming and betting activities in the UK market using a third-party platform product.

The gambling operator said that the recent switch from third-party technology to a proprietary solution means that it now has full control over all technology and this reduced the complexity of daily operations.

LeoVegas believes that owning and being in control of the technology that powers B2C operations provides it with “a strong competitive advantage that eliminates the need for any redundant development that is required for multiple platforms. In addition, this offers greater speed and flexibility when it comes to the rapidly changing regulatory environment in the UK, and any other market.

Headquartered in Stockholm with operations mainly located in Malta, LeoVegas is a mobile-focused digital gambling group. Its multi-brand portfolio offers casino, live casino, and sports betting services. While the UK has been one of the group’s core markets, it also boasts significant presence in other major regulated European markets.
