Heartland Poker Tour – Same Excitement, Different Year

Events & Reports

6213This is the seventh time in a row when the Heartland Poker Tour goes beyond players’ expectations with a prize pool that exceeds $1 million. The Main Event took place at Golden Gates Casino & Poker Parlour. Nader Wahdan was the lucky winner who earned more than $220, 000 and eliminated all the 686 participants.

However, Wahdan had an experienced opponent and a lot of efforts were needed in order to become a winner. Wahdan had to defeat Chad Leasure who took the second place in the Tournament. Another curious thing about the triumph of Nader Wahdan was that he invested only $200 in his victory.

Another place at the final table was taken by the Denver player Nils Bardsley who also made a small bet, equal to $380 and finished sixth.

Phil Mader was another star that made it to the final table. His participation in the tournament didn’t go as smooth as he had probably expected. Mader went home with the modest sum of $92, 000. Despite the unpleasant outcome, he said that the Black Hawk was an exciting event he was glad to take part in as nothing compares to the enjoyment and thrill he had experienced.

This was not the first time when John Sacha takes part in the Tour. He is a promising poker player who won the Black Hawk five years ago and this year he intended to do the same. Unfortunately luck was not on his side. He took 8th place and went home $25, 000 richer.

The Heartland Poker Tour is often recognised as one of the greatest events that take place in the Golden Gates Casino. This year, against all the odds, two big names were eliminated at a really early stage of the competition – Craig Casino and Stan Jablonski were excluded. Greg Raymer disappointed his fans as well. He finished 57th and got only $3, 500.

Colin York, who was said to be one of the pretenders for the first place, said that he would be proud to be a part of the Heartland Poker Tour Team and would regard his victory as a major accomplishment in his career.

The forth place in the Tournament was taken by Adam Zimowski. This is the second time he succeeds in being on the final table. The Heartland Poker Tour brought him an income of almost $64, 000.

Matthew Schierenberg was really enthusiastic about the award he got. Schierenberg said that he was going to celebrate his birthday in Las Vegas, together with his closest ones, so a part of the award will be spent pretty soon.

Edith Mortellaro also had big plans for improving her performance in 2011 but sadly, her intentions didn’t come true. She was eliminated and her earnings were a bit more than $20, 000.

The exact number of the stops is 10 and every player can get precise information about the dates, when the remaining tournaments will take place, from the website.
