On Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 Arsenal defeated the 10 – man West Ham football club with a final score 2 to 0. Arsenal managed to secure this important win without their former captain Pierre – Emerick Aubameyang who was stripped of his captaincy as well as dropped from the match following some off of the pitch issues between him and the club. Wednesday’s victory over West Ham propelled Arsenal in to the 4th – place spot in the English Premier League (EPL) with 29 – points.
Gabriel Martinelli received a through – ball from his teammate and stand – in captain, Alexandre Lacazette, and then Martinelli smoothly beat 3 – defenders of West Ham but missed the nearly – open goal shot from the left. Martinelli redeemed himself for missing that shot late in the 1st – half when he curled the football into the far corner of the net to score the 1st – goal of the match during the 48th – minute of play from Emirates Stadium.
Emile Smith Rowe cemented the Premier League win for Arsenal by nailing a beautiful and powerful strike from the edge of the area during the 87th – minute of the game that ultimately beat the wrong – footed West Ham goal – tender, Lukasz Fabianski. The Arsenal players ran to a corner of the pitch in order to celebrate as their head – coach Arteta eventually allowed himself to smile on the sidelines as he was extremely proud of his team.
On Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 Aubameyang had his Arsenal captaincy stripped by the historic football club following another disciplinary breach. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta explained to the sports media world that the striker Aubameyang has not worked, “to the rules and standards,” set by Arsenal’s football club.
Aubameyang allegedly was enabled by Arsenal to travel to France in order to deal with a family matter last week following Arsenal’s 2 to 1 loss at Everton which Aubameyang started as a substitute, but the former captain returned a day later than he had formerly agreed upon with the organization.
