The name of the new hotel will be Harbourview Hotel and there will be 444 rooms available.

According to the information released by Macau Legend Development’s officials, the soft launch of the property is supposed to take place on Monday, while the grand opening is scheduled for February 11th.

Actually, the property was completed and fully functional in November last year. However, it was not allowed to accept guests since there were some permits that needed to be obtained. Two months later, Macau officials gave the nod to the opening of Harbourview Hotel and issued an occupation permit.

The completion of the 4-star property took 13 months and it was completed one month behind the schedule. A completion ceremony was held in the middle of November and Macau Legends executives revealed that they have invested HK$1.5 billion or US$200 million into the property.

Although Macau is said to be a major gambling hub, the new hotel will not feature any gambling facilities. However, the guests of Harbourview Hotel will have the chance to try their luck at the Babylon Casino.

The two properties will be connected by a bridge. They are situated in the downtown region and form a part of the popular Fisherman’s Wharf.

Currently, the Babylon Casino, which is also managed by Macau Legend, is undergoing redevelopment procedures.

At the end of October, Macau Legend representatives announced that the Babylon Casino has been given the green light for adding 35 gaming tables to the casino floor.

Apart from managing the Babylon Casino, Macau Legend is also in charge of the Pharaoh’s Palace Casino, located at the Landmark Hotel. In one of its previous reports, the company stated that there are 150 gaming tables available in both casinos.

In point of fact, the allocation of the gaming tables is due to the help of SJM Holdings Ltd. as the local unit of the company provided Macau Legend with permission to operate the above-mentioned casinos.

In the filing, submitted to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, Macau Legend officials stated that they remain hopeful that their business will expand along with the development of the Fisherman’s Wharf.

For that purpose, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau is expected to grant more gaming tables to the company in order to help the redevelopment of the downtown area and the Macau Fisherman’s Wharf in particular.
