How it works

Users can buy a PostePay prepaid card and use it to shop online at websites that accept Visa Electron, to pay in restaurants or buy petrol. Whenever they want to buy an item, they can use their card to make payments with it. Anyone can buy a PostePay by presenting their Tax Identification Number and a valid ID.

Specifications

PostePay does not require opening a bank account. Upon obtaining such a card, users are charged the same amount that a MasterCard, Maestro, Visa Electron and Visa are worth.

Customers can recharge the card online in real time provided that they have registered on the official website of the service.

There are recharge costs: €1 per charge. Money withdrawal is charged €1 from ATMs, €1,75 from an Italian Visa ATM and €2.58 from a Visa ATM machine across the world. The taxes are the same throughout the entire euro zone. Outside the euro zone the cost is €5 per charge.

It is also important to mention that the minimum recharge amount is €5.
