A few days ago, Silver Heritage Ltd., one of Asia’s leading gaming and resort operators, announced that it had opened its Millionaire’s Club & Casino at the popular Shangri-La Hotel in Kathmandu, Nepal.
The new venue has been described as a boutique casino that operates under the country’s new gaming law. It provides its visitors with a total of 40 slot machines and 22 gaming tables. Silver Heritage pointed out that all the equipment that the venue features operates to the highest standards.
The Millionaire’s Club & Casino is primarily intended for Indian, Bangladeshi, and Chinese players and aims at providing them with its wide selection of gaming options as well as with excellent service. The venue is also expected to attract the attention of various expatriate communities that reside in Nepal.
After it launched its casino at the Shangri-La Hotel, Silver Heritage stated that it will continue its expansion into Nepal’s gaming and tourism market. The operator is currently developing the so-called Tiger Palace, a luxurious resort located in Bhairahawa, a municipality near the country’s Indian border.
The property is to spread over a 10.8-hectare site and will offer to its visitors conference halls, wedding venues, excellent restaurants, and various family-oriented entertainment options. Silver Heritage is also considering the launch of a casino venue at the resort at some point in future.
The construction of Tiger Palace has already begun and it is planned to be completed sometime in 2016. The operator stated that it will probably open two more resorts in the country up until the end of 2018, so as to be able to meet the constantly growing demand in this part of Asia and in the Asia-Pacific region, in general.
Mike Bolsover, CEO of Silver Heritage, shared that the company has been planning to enter Nepal’s gaming and tourism industry since 2011. He pointed out that their Kathmandu property will most certainly prove to be successful, considering the fact that it is located equally close to both China and India.
Apart from the Millionaire’s Club & Casino, Silver Heritage is also providing its services in a gambling venue in Dhangadhi, a city located not far from the Nepali-Indian border. There, the gaming operator manages 20 slot machines and 3 automated tables.
Tim Shepherd, executive director of Silver Heritage, said that the company’s policy goes far beyond the delivery and operation of gambling venues and resorts. As he pointed out, the operator aspires to be a “committed partner” in the countries it offers its services.
Mr. Shepherd said that he believes Silver Heritage will help the government of Nepal encourage inbound tourism. The gaming and resort operator is planning to do this by investing more than $100 million in the construction of a chain of top-class resorts around the country.
