Bit8’s CEO Dalli Expects the Provider to Double in Size after INTRALOT Deal

News

The Chief Executive Officer of the Malta-based gaming platform developer Bit8 – Mr. Angelo Dalli – shared his expectations for the company to get twice as large as it is now over the upcoming year and a half.

The services provided by Bit8 currently involve an all-inclusive sportsbook and casino platform with a variety of options offered to the players.

Mr. Dalli’s statement comes at a moment when the gaming software provider is boosting its operations as part of Bit8’s strategy to join forces with the international lottery company INTRALOT. In addition, he explained that the “global reach” of its partner is able to help the company push its solutions on a global scale.

Earlier in February, after several months of negotiations the two companies officially announced at the ICE Totally Gaming exhibition that they had reached an agreement over the acquisition of a minority stake in Bit8 by INTRALOT. In addition, under the terms of the deal, the platform of the Maltese company will be continuously integrated by INTRALOT across all of its operations.

Greece-based INTRALOT has agreed to purchase a minority stake of 25% in the supplier at the price of about €30 million. It is also provided with the opportunity to increase that stake in case that Bit8 achieves certain goals and meet some targets related to a number of financial terms.

Bit8 has been currently focused on consolidating its positions in Europe, but after striking the deal with INTRALOT the company was provided with the opportunity to reach the markets of North and Latin America. Until recently, these regions were found quite difficult to enter by the company and its head Mr. Dalli.

In addition, Bit8’s CEO Dalli also shared that the company could be forced to increase its current number of employees in order to face the growing demand.

The head of the Malta-based provider revealed that the agreement with INTRALOT is expected to have an enormous impact on the everyday business management. According to the Chief Executive Officer’s statement, the acquisition deal have brought Bit8 to a whole new level, especially considering the fact that INTRALOT is currently present in more than 50 countries all over the world.

In Mr. Dalli’s opinion, the boosted scale of the gaming platform’s offerings could also be found lucrative by other operators, particularly when having in mind that Bit8 has started to provide customers with its services on both hosted and re-branded services.
