Poker (and its variations) is among the most popular and highly appreciated games in the world. This is why it is not a surprise that so many poker tournaments take place daily and weekly. They give players the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and win substantial money and other prizes. Poker is equally enticing to watch and this is why more and more events are internationally televised, making it possible for fans to see the performances of some of the biggest names in this thrilling game.
And here is a list of some of the major tournaments that are scheduled to start in the course of the next few days.
2014/2015 WSOP Circuit – Lumière Place
The tournament starts today, February 19, with a $365 No-Limit Hold’em event and is set to continue up to March 2. As mentioned above, it will be held at the Lumière Place Casino and Hotels in St. Louis, USA. The tournament will feature various single & multi-table satellites as well as many other events. There will be 53 gaming tables for non-stop action and organizers shared that a total of 13 WSOP rings are to be distributed among winners.
The Main Event is scheduled to start on February 28.
2015 WPT National Montenegro
The 2015 WPT National Montenegro starts tomorrow, February 20, with a Freeroll Satellite. The tournament is to continue up to March 1. It will be held at Splendid Casino Royale, part of the Splendid Conference & SPA Resort in Budva, Montenegro. The buy-in fees for the various events that are scheduled to take place range from €100 to €3,000.
The Main Event is set to kick off on February 27 and will last three days, up to March 1, when the name of the big champion will be announced.
2014/2015 WSOP Circuit – Horseshoe Baltimore
The tournament is to be held from February 26 to March 9 at the popular Horseshoe Baltimore Casino in Maryland. A total of 14 ring events are set to be held in the course of 12 days. Organizers have prepared as many as 70 gaming tables in order to ensure non-stop poker action.
Special events, such as a $250 Ladies Event and a $250 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em one are also included in the tournament’s schedule. Ring Event #2 with its guaranteed prize pool of $250,000 is yet another that is worth mentioning.
The buy-in range for the event is from $120 to $1,675 for the tournament’s Main Event.
2015 APPT – Macau Poker Cup 22
Macau, Asia’s biggest gambling hub, will gather poker pros from February 27 to March 15. The tournament will be held at the PokerStars LIVE City of Dreams poker room. The buy-in fees for the numerous events vary from HKD600 to HKD80,000 for the High Roller (1 re-entry) [2-day event].
The buy-in fee for the emblematic Red Dragon event is HKD12,500 and organizers have promised a guaranteed prize pool of HKD5,000,000
WPT L.A. Poker Classic
This tournament is set to kick off on February 28 with the WPT Championship Final Table scheduled for March 5. The Los Angeles-based Commerce Casino will play host to the major competition. The buy-in fees for the separate events range from $300 to $50,000 for the 6-Handed Commerce Turbo High Roller event.
