Heinrich Pauker Wins the bwin.be WPT National Brussels Main Event

The 2015 €1,100 + €100 bwin.be World Poker Tour National Brussels Main Event has just been completed. It took a total of seven and a half levels before a champion was announced. His name is Heinrich Pauker and he captured the amount of €88,000 from the entire prize pool after he defeated French player Yehoram Houri in a heads-up play.

Day 3 of the event saw 21 players returning. Of those, only nine sat at the final table. Belgian player Nico Lombaerts was the first to go, after he was eliminated by Yehoram Houri in Level 27. Lombaerts took €8,760 for his performance.

Mike Gerry, yet another Belgian, was eliminated in eighth place by Miroslav Alilovic. He was followed by Mohamed Mamouni, who could not hold up against the soon-to-be champion. Mamouni was paid €14,600 for his seventh position.

Then, it was in Level 28 when French player Julien Duveau faced Pauker and was defeated by him. He took the amount of €17,520 for his participation in the event.

By the end of Level 28, Houri held the majority of chips (3,335,000), closely followed by Pauker (3,325,000).

Alilovic was the next player to leave the final table after his cards could not stand a chance against Erwann Pecheux’s. Some time later, he was followed by Jozsef Szabo, who, too, was eliminated by Pecheux. Alilovic and Szabo were paid €21,900 and €29,200.

Thus, there were only three players left on the final table. Of those three, it was Erwann Pecheux who had to leave in Level 30. The player was defeated by Pauker and took €39,425 for being one of the final three.

The heads-up play began with Heinrich Pauker being the chip leader. The Belgian had 10,070,000 and his opponent Yehoram Houri had only 1,630,000.

The final hand occurred in Level 30. Pauker had [Ac][Qs] and his opponent held [Ad][4c]. With the board showing [2d][9h][9c] on the flop, no winner could be determined. When [Qh] appeared on the turn, it became clear that Houri will have to content himself with the second place and the amount of €61,075.

As for Pauker, he was awarded €88,000 for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Currently, the German player is 2,617th in the Global Poker Index ranking. What is more, he is 408th in Germany’s All Time Money List. His winning from bwin.be WPT National Brussels Main Event has been his best live cash so far. And up to now, his total live earnings amount to $192,867.
