It attracted a total of 2,403 players and thus, became the largest one to have ever taken place on the territory of Maryland.

What is more, it was the second largest event of this year’s WSOP Circuit after the record number of 4,053 entrants took part in the Choctaw Casino Resorts’ Event #3 $365 No-Limit Hold’em Re-entry, which was held between January 9 and January 11.

Colorado-based poker player Jesse Mills won the Horseshoe Baltimore Event #2 $365 No-Limit Hold’em Re-entry. He was awarded the amount of $106,305 and a WSOP Circuit ring.

Minutes after his victory, Mills shared with interviewers that he had a well-developed strategy and he was happy that he managed to follow it until the end. He said that he tried to avoid “tougher players” when this was possible. What is more, he tended to fold big hands when he was not sure what else he could do.

Mills was fourth in chips at the beginning of the event’s final day. There were a total of 17 players left.

As mentioned above, Event #2 $365 No-Limit Hold’em Re-entry attracted a record number of entrants who created a prize pool of $720,900. It kicked off on February 27 and featured 4 separate starting flights. The first 252 players were to be paid. Apart from Mills, Bryan Riley from Virginia and Greg Himmelbrand from New York were also among the final three. The players were paid $50,167 and $66,900 for their third and second places, respectively.

Mills shared that it is his primary goal now to win a seat to this year’s National Championship. Bearing in mind that up until now, he has 110 points on the National Leaderboard, he has every chance to achieve this.

The sum he won from the Horseshoe Baltimore event is his biggest cash so far. Back in October 2014, he took fourth place in a WSOP Circuit Southern Indiana, where he won $4,752, his second largest cash from live tournaments.

The WSOP Baltimore is scheduled to end on Monday, March 9 with the final table of a $1,675 Main Event and with a $365 No-Limit Hold’em – Turbo event, the last of all fourteen ring events that were announced to be taking place throughout the tournament.
