The Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells will be the host of the next Mid-States Poker Tour later this month. There is a lot of buzz around the event as the last event of the MSPT set a new record for the State with the staggering prize pool of $487,000.
The last event was held at the Potawatomi Hotel and Casino earlier this September and gathered 487 overall signed players. The MSPT at Potawatomi was also the second largest tournament in the history of those series.
The winner of the tournament Mr. Zarlenga won $120,000 and became the person with most money won from the MSPT and is now considered a deserving nominee for the MSPT Season 5 award for Player of the Year.
The upcoming MSPT event will be held at the Ho-Chunk Gaming for the fifth time and is expected to grow bigger than before. The owner of MSPT announced that the Main Event will begin on September 26th with an $1,100 start. The event will continue throughout the weekend.
Mr. Mileski expressed his positive feelings towards the Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells praising their amazing poker community. Having in mind the growing qualifying statistics so far, he expects the event to “be the biggest and best yet”.
The last event held at the Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells poker rooms was back in March, where Jason Sell became the winner of $96,000. There were 393 sign-ups for the event. Other former winners of the MSPT are Mr. Illingworth, Mr. Bekavac and Mr. Reichard.
The qualifiers for the event will cost $250 to sign for and will start on September 20th. Those who keep scores high enough to be in top 20% will earn a spot for the Main Event that is to be held from 26th to 28th of September. There will also be an additional event for those who wish to play more poker.
The interesting part of the tournament will be undoubtedly the last weekend of the event. The Main Event will be broadcast live for all who could not attend it in person.
Day 1 “a” on Friday will consist of fourteen 40 minute mini-tourneys. Similar format will be administered on Saturday with another fourteen sessions. The finalists from those two days will be mixed together on the third day and will play until all but one are eliminated.
A RFID technology will help transmit live broadcast, letting viewers watch over each of the contestants’ cards. It will be delayed for 15 minutes to prevent any chance of cheating.
