Amaya Gaming Suspends the Launch of Full Tilt in Italy

News

RationalGroup1The new owner of Full Tilt and PokerStars – Amaya Gaming has recently announced that their top priority would be extending the coverage of their markets, improving the reputation of both gaming platforms and last but not least continuing to provide those who play just to try their luck as well as the professional players with world class gambling experience.

It seems like the authorities are willing to keep their promise but for now they have decided to suspend the launch of Full Tilt on the Italian market and popularize the products and services, available on PokerStars instead.

PokerStars has already been launched in Italy and Amaya’s authorities disregarded the proposal of the Rational Group and opted for postponing the introduction of Full Tilt and aggressively promoting PokerStars.it

It looks like Amaya Gaming is trying to prove its strength and show that it is an independent and powerful company that can take decisions on its own.

According to experts, familiar with the Italian online gambling affairs, the main reason why Amaya reversed the decision of the Rational Group was the fact that the gambling industry, not only in Italy but also in Europe in general, is currently experiencing a steady decline and various reforms.

It is a well known fact that Amaya Gaming was planning to release a new, impressive online platform that will serve as an extension to Full Tilt where a sports book will be included as well. However, the economy problems and the annual revenue of €135 million for the last year in particular, spoiled their plan.

One of the main reasons that have led to the complicated situation with the Italian gambling industry is the amount of taxes the gaming providers are supposed to pay.

Earlier this year the Rational Group have requested a permission from the local regulator, known as Amministrazione Autonoma dei Monopoli de Stado. Whenever an Italian-based player makes an attempt to enter the Full Tilt’s website, an notification, saying that the page is still under construction comes out. However, it is absolutely sure that for the time being, Amaya Gaming is not going to release Full Tilt anytime soon. The other platform, PokerStars.it, needs a lot of work and attention in order to reach the goals, set by the authorities.

Surprising or not, there are some other gambling providers that are not acting so carefully or they just think that they are somehow protected from the negative events that might happen. No matter what their reason was, several reliable companies, including bet365, Betfair, William Hill have made their gambling services available to the Italian players.

Marco Trucco will most probably take the lead of the Italian branch instead of Barbara Beltrami. According to experts the experience, Trucco has in the online gambling affairs, will have a great contribution to the future development of PokerStars.it.
