This year’s Russian Congress and Expo – RACE was organized for a third consecutive year. The event was held in two days and included the RACE awards for outstanding businesses from the industry.
A Record High Rate of Attendance
The number of attendants, who joined RACE at the Sokolniki Exhibition and Convention Center in Moscow, was a record high. The event, which was held on the 3rd and 4th of October, joined together developers, website admins, owners, experts in online marketing, SEO, advertising as well as webmasters and many others who were interested in what is to happen at the RACE.
There were not only Russian attendees but people from the Commonwealth of Independent States as well. The CIS is a regional organization which combines together most of the countries who were part of the Soviet Union. Some of these countries are Moldova, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan and of course, Russia.
The event welcomed more than a thousand guests with forty five speakers which included experts from Russia and abroad. There were 30companies which participated in the exposition, including ClickFrog, AdvertStar, IQ Option, Mail.Ru Group, PayU and many others.
The Russian newspaper Pravda commented that the expo showed the increased interest and development of the affiliate business in the country and its neighbors. Innovation in SEO, web development, marketing and advertising were the major aspects of the industry that attracted the guests, who sought to learn the latest trends in the segment.
One of the expo curators, Natalia Dvoryanova, explained that “the market as compared with to last year has increased, and it is confirmed by today’s exhibition.” She added that this year’s EXPO has gathered more attendees despite affiliate marketing being quite a narrow sector.
The event was separated in two conferences creating the perfect conditions for international and local experts and professionals to share knowledge and potentially create new partnerships. The different halls of the expo hosted different panel discussions and exhibitions in a way that guests interested in a specific issue can attend all discussions and presentations of that kind
Panel Discussion Highlights
Many of those who joined the RACE, found the presentations the best part of the entire event. Topics, such as what is the future of browsers and search engines, were presented by SEO expert Jan-Willem Bobbink. Presentation on ‘Contextual advertising’ introduced how CPA model is used in practice and showed interesting facts about the inside work of an affiliate marketing agency. That speech was given by Alytics’ Ilya Makarov.
Mike Metzen then talked on the topic “Content Marketing for Affiliates – be a brand in your niche” sharing his vision on innovative ideas such as the blue ocean strategy. Alexander Savchenkov made a very interesting presentation on how to bridge the knowledge gap between the West and the East affiliate businesses and how to use that knowledge to increase channels conversion and online revenue.
